WHOIS Lookup
Domain registration info, nameservers, registrar, and IP block ownership via RDAP.
What is WHOIS?
WHOIS is a protocol used to query databases that store registered users or assignees of internet resources — domain names, IP address blocks, and autonomous systems. It returns registration dates, the sponsoring registrar, nameservers, and contact handles for the registrant, admin, and technical roles.
RDAP vs legacy WHOIS
This tool uses RDAP (Registration Data Access Protocol), the modern JSON-based successor to the legacy WHOIS port-43 text protocol. RDAP provides structured, consistent data across all registries and supports HTTPS with rate limiting and access control — unlike the unstructured plaintext returned by traditional WHOIS servers.
